Ori Ossmy

Ori Ossmy, 26, is in his 3rd year at Ben Gurion University in the Negev, studying towards his first degree in Software Engineering.

"I like challenges", he says, "and software engineering gives me plenty of them. It's also a challenge studying in Be'er Sheva, combining studies with work, and trying to get good grades. But that's what makes it all the more interesting."

For the past 7 months Ori has been working as a Software Development Engineer Intern in the Security Virtualization Team. "From my point of view, it's more than I could ever have wished for", He says with a smile. "The entire working environment is great and very challenging, allowing me to study hard, work well and also earn some money (which is a real plus when you're a poor student). Add to that the Xbox, pool, unlimited supply of chocolate, and you have a workplace which is both fun and rewarding."

When asked to sum up his feelings as an intern at Microsoft, Ori is suddenly at a loss for words. "You can't sum up this kind of work in a few sentences, you need to live it, experience it first-hand."

Michal Vadai

Michal Vadai, 25, is studying towards her degree in Computer Science & Chemistry at the Tel Aviv University.

For the past year and a half she has been interning with the Telecom group, in the test infrastructure team that provides test infrastructure to the development teams. "I chose computer science because it looked interesting and practical, and also something that will give me tools and a profession for the future", she says. "I just love being a student, and the atmosphere and people here at Microsoft are great. I also like the fact I combined between 2 study fields: computers and chemistry."

Michal was introduced to Microsoft at an employment fair on the campus. "I chose Microsoft R&D Center because it enabled me to develop in an area I had no previous experience, to a point where I'm now fully qualified. Microsoft has treated me as a full time developer in terms of the responsibility and scope, while I constantly learn."

Even though she is a student, Michal is treated as an equal by fellow colleagues. The youthful environment makes her feel right at home, amongst her peers. "The work atmosphere here is very pleasant, and I have common language with the people I work with and even some good friends here. The hours are flexible and I always get the peace of mind when I need it for my studies or time off for exams. The entire arrangement for students is very attractive compared to the industry. I can't think of a better place for students than Microsoft.
