SMS Messenger

"SMS for Windows Live Messenger is a Microsoft hosted service that extends Windows LiveTM Messenger service to SMS enabled mobile. SMS for Windows Live Messenger enables millions of Windows Live users to be online any time, using their native Short Messages Service (SMS) mobile phone capabilities
The service is deployed in leading telecom networks around the world (including Israel).

Surface

Surface is a horizontal display on a table-like form factor that morphs from an ordinary table-top into a new, vibrant way to bring connected entertainment and digital content to users.

The cool factor is the way you interact with digital content by using your hands to get what you need.

Surface provides effortless interaction with digital content through natural gestures, touch and physical objects. Because Surface is essentially housed in a table, it's easy for individuals or multiple people to gather around it in a way that feels familiar - making collaboration more powerful and fun.

LDC Innovation Labs team developed various applications especially for surface technology.

CMP – Client, Management, Protection

CMP-Israel builds solutions and management infrastructure for protecting users, information and machines; all the way up from consumer security products like Microsoft Security Essentials, thru powering MS products addressing small-to-mid orgs with security technologies (e.g. System Center Online Desktop Manager and Small Business Server), to enterprises with centralized IT administration, operating security across a large number of managed desktops and servers (e.g. products like Forefront Endpoint Protection).

CMP includes:
• Client: endpoint machines, client and server, unmanaged and managed by IT.
• Management: centralized operations/deployment of security across endpoints, and datacenters (as a unit of deployment/management/protection).
• Protection: security technologies to protect assets, such as machines, information and users.

Digital Lens

Vision problems affect most of the population during their lives. Digital Lens was designed with the mission to simplify the process of detecting UI which is less accessible to users with impaired vision.

The Out-of-the-Box Week (OOBW) is an activity, used in some of Microsoft’s labs to foster grassroots innovation
and creativity. The Innovation Labs in Israel’s R&D Center holds an Out-of-the-Box Week on a quarterly basis.
During an Out-of-the-Box Week, all scheduled lab activities are canceled and team members are encouraged to
explore their wildest ideas.
OOBW is a totally unmanaged process. People are free to choose their own topics, partners, technologies and
tools and develop a fast prototype around their idea. No control. No guidelines. No status reports. In fact there
are no rules, but one: at the end of this week all teams gather for an exciting demonstration in front of all Microsoft
Israel R&D Center’s employees and guests. Our success criterion is very simple and easy to measure: We must
have FUN doing it!
